Welcome from our Principal

Miss Renee Miller, School Principal

Welcome to Banksia Park School R-6!

At Banksia Park School R-6, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing and dynamic environment where every student can thrive. Our “Strive for 5” values are the cornerstone of our school culture, guiding us in our mission to develop well-rounded individuals who are prepared for the future.

**Be Brave**: We encourage our students to take risks, embrace challenges, and step out of their comfort zones. Being brave means having the courage to try new things, learn from mistakes, and persist in the face of adversity.

**Be Kind**: Kindness is at the heart of our community. We believe in treating everyone with respect, empathy, and compassion. By fostering a culture of kindness, we create a supportive and inclusive environment where every student feels valued.

**Work Hard**: Success comes from dedication and effort. We instill a strong work ethic in our students, teaching them the importance of perseverance, resilience, and a commitment to their goals.

**Aim High**: We encourage our students to set goals and strive for their personal best in all they do. Aiming high means believing in oneself and pushing beyond perceived limits to reach new heights of achievement.

**No Excuses**: Accountability and responsibility are key to our success. We teach our students to take ownership of their actions and decisions. By adopting a no-excuses mindset, we empower our students to overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential.

At Banksia Park School R-6, we believe in the importance of developing the whole child. This means focusing not only on academic excellence but also on the wellbeing of our students. We understand that a balanced approach to education, where academics and student wellbeing go hand in hand, is essential for fostering lifelong learners who are happy, healthy, and successful.

Our dedicated staff are committed to supporting every student on their journey, ensuring they receive the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed.

We are proud to be a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) school. PBL is a framework that promotes positive behaviour and creates a safe and effective learning environment. Through PBL, we teach and reinforce clear expectations, helping students develop the social and emotional skills they need to succeed.

Our vibrant parent community plays a crucial role in our school life. We value the strong partnerships we have with our families and the wider community. Throughout the year, we host a variety of events such as Sports Day, Mum’s Day, Dad’s Day, the School Concert, and SAPSASA sporting events, which bring us together to celebrate our students’ achievements and build lasting memories.

Welcome to Banksia Park School R-6, where we Strive for 5 in all we do!

Warm regards,

Renee Miller
